Well, I started thinking as I was listening to them all about the simple fact that I am proud to be an American and even more proud of the chance to serve America. All the political bullshit aside we are free. It is a crying shame that some people will trash their own country over the price of gas. Big Deal. It's still cheaper here than in the UK etc... And yes our economy blows right now, but there ARE jobs out there for the people who are willing to work. Pride is your biggest reason for unemployment. If you were that hard up for a job you can get a job in the fast food industry etc. Get 2 jobs even.  "Oh, but I am over qualified." Bullshit. You are too proud to do what it takes to make it happen. People, if you want something bad enough you will do whatever it takes to get it. Stop making excuses. Being proud to be an American does not make you patriotic. Being patriotic is not a feeling, it's a lifestyle. Just take a minute and look at the freedoms you enjoy on a daily basis and be thankful to be in the good ole US of A.

This song just makes me happy. ( I am well aware it's not the 4th of July Yet too. ;)

]]> http://juliomedina.com/song-of-the-day/angry-american-america-4th-july/feed/ 11 American Idol Season 10 – Pet Peeve http://juliomedina.com/pet-peeves/american-idol-season-10-pet-peeve/ http://juliomedina.com/pet-peeves/american-idol-season-10-pet-peeve/#comments Thu, 24 Mar 2011 02:39:32 +0000 juliomedina http://juliomedina.com/?p=364 Ok, maybe it's a guilty pleasure, maybe it's a confession or maybe I'm just sharing a little bit of my together time with April where we watch American Idol every week.  This is our second season watching it together, and I have to get something off my chest.  I CAN NOT STAND Scott McCreery.  If I hear "Baby lock the doors and turn the lights down low" again, I am going to go freakin' nuts!  Do not get me wrong.  I am not hating on country music.  In fact, I am a big fan of it and the song that he is singing: Josh Turner - Your Man - awesome song and great artist.  BUT!!!  Scotty is not an American Idol.  He would be great on a CMT competition or maybe a state fair, but he can only sing one song.  His lack of self confidence to branch out and sing other songs just kills me.  So please America, somebody, turn on the lights, unlock the doors and get Scotty out of here!

Oh yeah, and he disgraced Stevie Wonder, too. I am ashamed for Motown Music to be sung this way.
