Atkins Day Break Oatmeal Cinnamon Baked Square

My Favorite Low Carb Breakfast Bar

I am a huge fan of low carb living. I do not follow the Atkins diet to the "T" but I still like to stay very low carb when I am dieting. I do get alot of the atkins bars and there is a new bar that I like so much I thought I would write a review about it. Atkins Day Break Oatmeal Cinnamon Baked Square, 5 - 1.4 oz Squares per Box . If you have ever had any of the atkins bars before you know that a lot of them are pretty good. The breakfast bars are all pretty good and always give you a ton of fiber to start off the day. I have had almost every Daybreak Bar and this is my favorite one hands down. In my opinion the only one that comes close would be the Atkins Day Break Bars, Cinnamon Bun

The Cinnamon Bun Bar runs a close second but it's still a second place spot for taste. The new Oatmeal Cinnamon Baked Square is delish! It's like a desert that you would eat even if you were not on a diet of any kind.  They are a little bit higher on the Carb Count weighing in  at 6 net carbs so if you are trying to stay SUPER low then keep that number in mind but! It's so worth it. Not to mention the 10g of Fiber is a HUGE plus. What a way to start out the day! Calorie wise it's only 140 Calories so pretty light on the calorie scale and while I know that you are not counting calories on a low carb diet it's still noteworthy. The Daybreak Bar features are:

  • Low Carb - Only 6 net carbs
  • Low Sugar - 1gram
  • High Protein -5 grams
  • High Fiber - 10 grams
  • 140 Calories

So, all this to say...If you have the Daybreak bars for breakfast or even for a snack. This is Oatmeal Cinnamon Baked Square is worth the tasting. Let me know what you think about it!

Knock Knock Stuff

April and I were bored on a weeknight, so we decided to drive around and look through some stores.  We stopped @Pier1; I actually like to look in this store, believe it or not.  They have some cool stuff for the house and home.  It can get kinda pricey, but it's still fun too look.  You never know what kinda deal you might find.  So, we're in the store.  April went her way, and I went mine.  I went over to the desk and bookshelf section in the back corner.  Someday, I want a home office with lavish furniture like they have there and a few book shelves with lots of cool books, some that I have read and some that I haven't but might look cool on my shelf.  You know what I'm talking about, the ones you think would make you look smarter by setting them on a coffee table for you guests to see. (Ok, Ok, back to reality, haha.)  There was a little stand with some notepads, stationary and things like that.  I am a sucker for notepads and ways to keep yourself organized etc.  Well, I found these really cool NotePad MousePads.  I was in love.  The Knock Knock Paper Mousepad: 5 Days A Week is proabably the coolest thing, ever, for your desk.

Probably one of the coolest paper things for your desk, ever!

I always scribble on different paper, etc and this is an awesome way of keeping it right at your desk.  I know what you are going to say, " I have a laptop; I don't use a mouse."  Well, the point behind this is not the mousepad feature.  It's the fact that you can stay organized in such an easy fashion.  Needless to say as soon as I got home, I got on Facebook and became a fan of Knock Knock right away.  Check them out.  They have some really cool stuff.  What is your favorite?  I am sure I will be telling you more about other stuff I want and get from them...

The Soul Support Book

So, I'm waiting in the Dr.'s office, and I'm in the lobby waiting to be seen.  There's quite a few people waiting today.  There's a crappy magazine table that probably has a trillion germs all over them. (Yikes!)  On the end table closest to me, I see this book: The Soul Support Book by Deb Koffman, so I start thumbing through it.  Immediately, I was captivated.  I mean, there were some of the most simple messages in such a small book.  What a treasure.  For example:

Just a simple drawing but a deep truth.  I had an old boss who always used to quote his boss saying: "There's always a better way; you just have to find it."  I loved that, and it stuck with me.  When I saw this book, specifically this page, I was brought back to this simple truth.  Sometimes, we get so caught up in "How things SHOULD be" or "How things HAVE to be", but the truth is very rarley do our big "life's plans" go the way we picture them to be.  The important thing is when all else fails, find another way.  My favorite quote or life saying says: Success is a journey, not a destination. Who cares if we get stuck somewhere, or we get beaten down along the way.  So what if your past is beating you down.  You can make it through.  You might just have to find another way than the way you originally planned.  The great news is THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER WAY!
