Today on facebook Being American asked the question " What is your favorite song about America?" and I started thinking about so I of course I headed over to YouTube and started listening to my Favs. ( You can check um out below.) Well, I started thinking as I was listening to them all about the simple fact that I am proud to be an American and even more proud of the chance to serve America. All the political bullshit aside we are free. It is a crying shame that some people will trash their own country over the price of gas. Big Deal. It's still cheaper here than in the UK etc... And yes our economy blows right now, but there ARE jobs out there for the people who are willing to work. Pride is your biggest reason for unemployment. If you were that hard up for a job you can get a job in the fast food industry etc. Get 2 jobs even. "Oh, but I am over qualified." Bullshit. You are too proud to do what it takes to make it happen. People, if you want something bad enough you will do whatever it takes to get it. Stop making excuses. Being proud to be an American does not make you patriotic. Being patriotic is not a feeling, it's a lifestyle. Just take a minute and look at the freedoms you enjoy on a daily basis and be thankful to be in the good ole US of A.

Modest Mouse - Float on has alot of good memories for me. I really liked that song when it was hot on the radios. On the way home from work the other day I heard this Lupe Fiasco song and I was more than impressed so I decided I would make it my song of the day. Lupe Fiasco has some good stuff. I was a fan of all his older songs and this has motivated me to look up his newest releases....

I had no idea that Alter Bridge had come out with a 3rd CD. Since @Creed got back together I kinda put @alterbridge on the back burner. ( I know, shame on me as a fan right?) Well anyhow I just stumbled upon this song and I was right back in the game as a supporting fan. I like their style. I have now seen both Alter Bridge and Creed on concert and I liked them both. I know Scott Stapp has tons of haters out there for his foolish acts as a performer back in the day but he came back strong and Creed's music was a huge part of my youth from the motivational songs like Higher that ended up being played on all radio stations to the harder songs like My Own Prison. Alright enough about that: This song here by Alter Bridge is amazing. My Favorite line from the lyrics:

I have been listening to Linkin Park for years now and when I hear slower songs like this I like them even more. I love music. I love music that you can feel. What I mean by that is music that stirs up feelings. Everyone has felt it. It's the reason that movies move us. The background music. Anyhow this song is really good. I just heard it for the first time this morning and I have replayed it like 10 times.

Home is a special place for everyone. It does not matter where you come from, how you grew up or where you are now. Home is always home. We live it, talk about it and most importantly sing about it so while this 1st song is my song of the day I will include all my favorites that talk about home or going to the place you call home.

This next song reminds me of Home is Chicago where I lived for 7 years and enlisted into the service...I love Kanye West's Music and this song reminds me of many fun summer nights with some of the best friends.

Lastly, home is where you are right. There is an old phrase that says "Bloom where you are planted." While you may get 'homesick' or miss where you come from remember that it's not where you came from it's where you end up that matters. Success is a journey and not a destination. Just keep moving.
